Preconditioning

What is preconditioning?

It may seem a simple question, but when put to the test, many process managers are unable to truly define preconditioning. Here’s a definition that covers most of the bases:

Preconditioning is the formation of a homogenous final product from a mixture of two or more dissimilar raw materials, then hydrating to particular moisture and precooking for ease of extrusion processing, to provide a uniform and consistent flow to the extruder.
