“The eye eats as well as the mouth,”
says an old German proverb. Does
the color of food affect the senses?
Maybe not for the pet, but it’s more likely to for
the pet owner. For decades, food manufacturers
have looked for ways to make their products
more appealing to the senses. Through this
research they have determined that color has
considerable effect on human perception of
food taste.
Of course, as pets are becoming more vital
members of the family, a large percentage of the
pet owning consumer base desire to mimic their
human menu preferences for their pets, such as
with foods that appeal more toward the human
senses and comfort.
